Learn Mihai’s symbol inside Svartrau Cathedral before trying to open his grave. The night route uses the roof opening and scaffolding to inspect the left-side fresco. Then return to the five courtyard graves: the correct one is fourth from the left, or second from the right when facing the row. Inspect its symbol to reveal the crypt entrance.

Find the symbol from the cathedral scaffolding

This route starts when your journal asks you to investigate the cathedral or search its courtyard. If you are still tracing Albertus or another earlier lead, follow that active objective first. Knowing the physical grave location is not the same as Coen having learned how to recognize it.

At night, use Shadowstep and the exterior scaffolding to reach the opening high on the cathedral. Cross the interior platforms toward the left-side fresco near the ritual. Use the Inspect prompt at the book on the scaffold to examine the painting and identify the symbol on Mihai’s armor. Check that the investigation advances before leaving.

Reach the roof opening in vampire form.
Move along the interior scaffolding toward the fresco.
Activate Inspect; simply looking at the wall is not the interaction.
Return to the courtyard after learning the symbol.

Which grave opens Mihai’s crypt?

Face the row of five graves in the side courtyard. Inspect the second grave from the right, which is the fourth from the left. The two descriptions refer to the same grave, not competing entrances. Focus helps distinguish the interactable stones from surrounding scenery.

If the entrance does not open, revisit the symbol interaction and read the current journal objective. Do not assume a bug solely because you found the correct stone before completing the investigation. If your objective still concerns locating the burial area, finish that clue before testing the entrance again.

Finish the crypt and continue to Forge It Anew

Inside the crypt, follow the sound from behind a wall and use Focus to find the interaction. Opening that wall leads to the Mihai encounter, so check health and save before committing. Defeat him to receive the Broken Sword of St. Mihai.

Why can’t I open Saint Mihai’s grave?

Check that Coen has learned the symbol through the cathedral investigation. Finding the stone first does not complete that prerequisite.

Is the fourth grave from the left the same as the second from the right?
