What the player needs to know
Read the time cost before accepting the plan
The useful unit is a committed action, not every minute you spend holding the controller. Official gameplay material says exploration itself is free while selected quests and activities show a cost. Use that separation to inspect a settlement, speak to people and identify alternatives before choosing the action that moves Coen forward.
Treat “30 days” as a route budget. The developers repeatedly say there is not enough time to help everyone. A first run is therefore healthier when it follows one coherent priority, such as family, allies, power or discovery, than when it tries to clear an imagined checklist that the game is designed to resist.
- Scout before paying a visible quest cost.
- Keep a manual note of unresolved people and locations.
- Do not assume every optional-looking event is consequence-free.
Plan as both versions of Coen
Human Coen and vampire Coen are not two skins over the same move set. Official footage and feature notes frame day and night as different approaches to objectives, with human swordplay and learned Witchcraft on one side and supernatural mobility and Vampirism on the other.
If a door, opponent or social route resists one approach, record it and reconsider after the transition instead of assuming the quest is blocked. The final guide will add exact route conditions only after the launch build can be checked.

| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Does this action show a time cost? | It may advance the limited story window. |
| Would day or night open another approach? | Coen’s available abilities and routes change. |
| Is this claim tested or only shown in edited footage? | Launch values and edge cases may differ. |
Invest in a problem, not a fashionable build
The three named development paths are Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism. That does not yet prove one universal “best” path. Manuals, feeding, corruption, encounter design and the respec rules all affect the value of an upgrade. Learn the controls first, then spend toward the problem that repeatedly stops your route.
This site deliberately keeps pre-release build rankings unpublished. A recommendation becomes useful only when its skill values, acquisition cost, timing and alternatives can be compared on the same version.
On release, the first-run route will be replayed from a clean profile rather than inherited from a late-game save. That check will record tutorial defaults, the earliest moment each major system appears, the first displayed time cost and any setting the game asks the player to choose. Advice that only works with later skills will move out of the beginner page. The result should remain useful to someone who has not yet seen a menu, character or place name, while links carry experienced players into the more technical system records.
Frequently asked questions
Can I complete everything in one playthrough?
The official framing says Coen does not have enough time to help everyone. A complete-all route should not be assumed possible, and outcome-specific achievements reinforce the value of multiple saves or runs.
Should I rush because there is a 30-day limit?
No real-time drain during ordinary exploration has been announced. Read the displayed cost attached to a commitment, then decide; the launch build will be checked for exceptions.
