What the player needs to know

Official minimum and recommended PC specifications are published on the publisher and Steam pages. Use the live store table as the final authority because requirements can change near release. A component list alone does not guarantee a resolution, preset or frame rate unless the publisher names that target, so performance recommendations will wait for versioned benchmarks.

This official gameplay frame is visual context only; it cannot prove resolution, frame rate or the hardware needed to reach either.

Read the live requirements before buying

Open the publisher or Steam record and compare CPU, GPU, memory, storage and operating system line by line. Laptop GPU names and shared-memory systems are not direct equivalents to desktop parts, so use the exact model rather than the marketing family.

Leave storage headroom beyond the listed install size for unpacking, shader caches and updates. If the store record changes, the dated source should outrank an old screenshot copied into a third-party list.

  • Match exact CPU and GPU models.
  • Check VRAM separately from system memory.
  • Reserve update and unpacking headroom.
  • Confirm driver and operating-system support.

Minimum is not a performance promise

A minimum tier usually describes the lowest supported configuration, but it does not inherently mean 1080p, 60 FPS or a specific visual preset. Recommended likewise needs a named target before it can be translated into a benchmark expectation.

The launch benchmark table will state resolution, preset, upscaler, frame generation, scene, driver and game version. A single average FPS without those fields is not enough.

How to interpret the two official tiers
LabelSafe interpretation
MinimumLowest published component floor; target settings must be stated separately
RecommendedStronger published configuration; do not invent a frame-rate target
Measured benchmarkPlatform, settings, scene and version must accompany the result

Where console and handheld performance belong

PS5 and Xbox modes are separate platform questions. PC requirements do not predict console display modes, and trailer footage does not establish the retail frame rate. The console frame-rate targets, including which systems receive the 60 FPS Performance Mode, are kept on their own page.

Handheld PCs are also a distinct case rather than a scaled-down desktop. They sit beneath the published component floor, so tested figures for the Steam Deck and its Windows rivals are recorded separately with the preset and resolution beside each number.

The requirements table will be checked against both live official records on release day and dated when copied into the guide. Benchmarks will then use exact hardware, driver, Windows build, game patch, resolution, preset, upscaler and frame-generation state. Average frame rate will be paired with frame-time behavior and a named test scene. Shader compilation, traversal stutter and memory pressure will be described separately because one headline number cannot explain them. Community results may broaden coverage but will stay attributed to their setup.

Frequently asked questions

Can my PC run Dawnwalker?

Compare your exact components with the current Steam or publisher requirements. A precise FPS answer also needs the target resolution, settings and final game version.

Does recommended mean 60 FPS?

Not unless the official record attaches that target. The label alone should not be converted into a guaranteed frame rate.
